Piano & Keyboard Lessons in Athens, GA

Play the songs you hear in your head. Private piano and keyboard lessons that build real skill — both hands, chords, rhythm, and reading — at the studio, at your home, or on Zoom.

Taught by Nick Bradfield

From $45 · 30-minute lesson

The piano is the clearest picture of music there is: every note laid out in a line. That makes it the best instrument for understanding how songs work — and the fastest route to writing your own. Lessons here treat it that way, as a tool for playing and creating, not a list of pieces to get through.

Whether you want to accompany yourself singing, play pop and rock by chord chart, get your left hand to finally cooperate, or sit down at a keyboard and just play, the lessons are built around that goal and adjusted as you go.

Chords that unlock songs

Learn the handful of shapes and patterns that cover most of the music you know, then play it.

Both hands, for real

Independence between hands is where most self-taught players get stuck. It's taught step by step.

Keys for writing

Piano is the songwriter's instrument. Lessons connect what you play to how songs are built.

Lessons on your own piano

Pianos don't travel. In-home lessons happen on the instrument you actually practise on — or come to the studio, or join on Zoom.

Frequently asked questions

How much are piano lessons?
On a monthly plan, lessons are $45 for 30 minutes, $60 for 45, or $75 for 60; a single lesson is $10 more. Online lessons cost the same as studio lessons. In-home lessons add travel at $100 an hour of round-trip drive time from Athens — roughly up to $65 within 15 miles, and up to about $220 at 50 miles. Full details are on the pricing page.
Do I need a piano at home?
You need something to practise on between lessons. A full-size digital keyboard with weighted keys is the practical choice for most people — ask before buying if you're unsure.
Will I have to learn to read music?
Only as much as your goals need. Plenty of great players work mostly from chord charts. If you want to read notation fluently, that becomes part of the plan.
Can I take piano lessons on Zoom?
Yes. Position a camera so your hands are visible and use your keyboard at home. It works well for chords, songs, and technique.
Is it too late to start as an adult?
No. Adults often move faster than they expect because they know what music they want to play and why. The goal just shapes the plan.
